Arrival & Departure Points

Poznan is perfectly situated on the intersection of major European transport routes.

 

Its modern “Lawica” International and Domestic Airport can serve 1,5 million passengers per year. The terminal is an intelligent computer-controlled building with the highest “A” ICAO standard. The Airport is situated only 6 kilometers from the city center and provides regular connections with Warsaw and 15 other important European cities.

 

Poznan is also the junction of international railroads which provide direct regular connections from/to Berlin, Brussels, Paris, Moscow, Kiev, Budapest and Prague.

Poland currently develops a modern motorway system which will soon include a fast direct road connection between Poznan and Berlin.


Poznan has one of the best developed net of public transport in Poland. Several tram and bus lines connect the most important points in the city as well as the connect the city with the suburbia.

 

The Organizing Committee will secure free for all participants of the Championship:

a) transportation to/from the arrival/departure points in Poznan and the students village;
b) transportation to/from: the trainings, competition venue, ceremonies, social activities;

 

The points of arrivals and departures foreseen for the European Universities Basketball Championship are:

 

a) Poznan International and Domestic Airport ‘Lawica’ which presently maintains direct air connections with Warsaw and 15 other important cities all over Europe.

b) Poznan Main Railway Station (direct connections e. g. with Paris, Bruxelles, Berlin, Moscow, Kiev, Prague, Budapest).

 

c) Berlin International Airports (Tegel and Schonefeld), located around 250 km from Poznan – only upon request. The teams will be charged for the motorway transportation Berlin/Poznan/Berlin if provided by their request by the Organizing Committee.

 

Transportation during Championship for participants and EUSA Delegates will be done with the shuttle, which will be cruising between accomodations and sport venues every 30 minutes all day long.


According to EUSA rules, the organiser provides bus transport within the city. Shuttle bus will be available during the championship. For VIP/EUSA/guests, the OC will provide minivans or private cars.
